Dr. Abhinandan Punit has received medical and surgical training from very sought-after Orthopaedic doyens around the globe.
He completed his Master of Surgery Orthopaedics (2008-2011) from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University in 2011 with flying colours. He was awarded DNB orthopaedics degree in the same year.
He worked as a senior resident (2011-2014)and thereafter as an Assistant Lecturer, Consultant (2014-2016) at Goa Medical College where he was involved in high-volume polytrauma surgeries, reconstruction of complex periarticular fractures and pelvi-acetabular surgeries. He has a keen interest in teaching and has extensively trained junior orthopaedic surgeons.

In 2014: Received higher surgical training in Sports Medicine, Knee surgery including cartilage transfer, allograft meniscal transfers and Regenerative medicine from the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute, Bologna, Italy under Professor Maurilio Marcacci and Professor Stefano Zaffagnini, MD In 2016: Knee replacement & Knee Sports Medicine from FIFA certified centre in Portugal under the world renowed Professor João Duarte Espregueira-Mendes, MD, PhD. Clínical 2016-2020: He moved to the UK with his family where he pursued long-term fellowships where he learnt the finer intricacies of hip & knee joint replacements, revision joint replacements, robotic joint replacements, shoulder surgery from prestigious Orthopaedic institutes like Aberdeen Royal Infirmary at Aberdeen and Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Glasgow, Scotland. During his period in UK, he has been trained with renowned NHS orthopaedic surgeons such as Mr. Kapil Kumar, Mr. Kamal Deep, Mr. Stevenson, Mr. Jason Roberts, to name a few. 2020: He moved to Australia to train under the globally renowned Professor Phong Tran, Head of Department, Western Health for formal surgical training Direct Anterior Hip Replacement. During this time, he also trained under Professor John O’ Donnell, who is considered the father of Hip Arthroscopy.
